In 2015, the Ministry of
Information and Communications will coordinate with ministries, sectors, news
agencies and provincial-level People’s Committees in elaborating the master
plan on external information system and further disseminating information on Vietnam’s
sovereignty over seas and islands.
Such is among the tasks
set forth in the external information plan of the Government during 2015-2017,
approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 587/QD-TTg of May 5.

external information system will focus on providing information on the national
borders and sovereignty over seas and islands, educating about human rights,
and strongly opposing false allegations on the situation of human rights in Vietnam.
Related ministries and
sectors are urged to implement the plan to build overseas Vietnamese cultural
centers during the 2016-20 period, and the plan to improve the effectiveness of
external information of overseas Vietnamese representative missions through
2020. They are also tasked to prepare a plan to set up a group of overseas

other tasks of creating multimedia and multilingual products with high cultural
contents; promoting images, potentials and strengths of sectors and localities
to develop tourism and attract foreign investment; organizing Vietnamese
Culture Days or Weeks in foreign countries and anniversaries of establishment
of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and foreign countries; and introducing documents
affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Paracel and Spratly archipelagos in
some strategic localities at home and abroad.
