Since early 2020, the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected the nation’s economy as well as many aspects of life and society. To address this, from April 2020 to July 2021, the Government rolled out several fiscal and monetary policies to help stabilize the national economy and ensure social security for the people.

These include the Labor Code, the Invetment Law, the Enterprise Law, the Law on Investment in the Form of Public-Private Partnership, the Securities Law, the Youth Law, the Law on Mediation and Dialogue at Court, among others.

From July 1 this year, the Law on Libraries (the Law) will supersede the 2000 Ordinance on Libraries (the Ordinance). Consisting of six chapters with 52 articles, the Law provides the establishment and operation of libraries and state management of libraries. It also defines the rights, obligations and responsibilities of agencies, organizations and individuals in library activities.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently submitted a document to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, proposing the removal of the condominium management service from the list of conditional business investment lines in the amended Investment Law.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment has introduced the latest draft of the law revising the Investment Law and Enterprise Law, which officially acknowledges household business as a type of business entity besides private enterprise, partnership, limited liability company and joint-stock company.
