New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Tredene Dobson has highlighted the significance of the visit by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue from December 3-7, saying that she believes it will further demonstrate the mutually beneficial nature of the bilateral relationship and of course further advance the relationship in key areas.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has thanked New Zealand for assisting Vietnam in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by providing vaccines and financial support for the Southeast Asian country.

President Nguyen Minh Triet made Vietnam’s first state-level visit to New Zealand since the two countries established diplomatic ties in June 1975. Triet was received by New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung have made their tours to New Zealand and Europe, respectively, to further develop bilateral cooperative relationships.
