Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Luxembourg counterpart Xavier Bettel held talks in Hanoi on May 4, affirming both sides’ wish and determination to lift bilateral relations to a new development stage that is more substantive and effective.

The upcoming visit by Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, the first by a Luxembourg PM to Vietnam in over 20 years, is expected to make the friendship and partnership between the two countries deeper and more substantive.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam, organized an international workshop on “Experience in reporting under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism.”

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, made active contributions to the agenda of the 52nd regular session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) that concluded in Geneva on April 4.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met female leaders of centrally-run agencies and presented Kovalevskaia Awards on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8) in Hanoi on March 7 to honor the contributions of Vietnamese women to national construction and development.

Minister Counsellor Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, deputy head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), on February 13 emphasized the importance of putting the people at the center of development policies, supporting vulnerable groups, promoting innovation in education and training, enhancing laborers’ capacity to self-learn and adapt to meet the requirements of the new context.

With all the things it has done for its people, Vietnam can be proud of itself, said Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Boubazine Abdelhamid, adding that he thinks Vietnamese people are very happy, and all must recognize that Vietnam is a very safe country.

Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner of all countries and a responsible member of the international community. Its stature has generated new potential toward rapid and sustainable development in the coming years.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in 2022 and their impacts on the country's growth in 2023. He made the remark in an interview to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the Lunar New Year Festival 2023 and the 93rd anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) (February 3).
