The scheme aims to implement the Party’s and the State’s guidelines and policies on Vietnamese children adopted by foreigners, step up the implementation of the Political Bureau’s Resolution No. 36/NQ-TW on overseas Vietnamese, and implement the 2013 Law on Adoption and relevant international conventions that the country has acceded to.

It is also expected to help adopted persons maintain cultural connections with their native nation.

Three specific solutions have been devised to reach the above targets, including formulating and implementing a pilot program on search for origin, working out a plan on computerization of adoption dossiers, and elaborating a regulation on management, update and use of dossiers on adopted Vietnamese children.

Specifically, a pilot program on search for origin of Vietnamese children adopted by French citizens will be implemented in next August. Similar programs will be organized later.

The scheme is set to be implemented in 2016. The Department of Adoption will assume the prime responsibility for organizing the scheme implementation and supervising the performance of tasks stated in the scheme.- (VLLF)
