Circular No. 02/2012/TT-BTC: Fees for law practice licenses in Vietnam rise

From March 1, the fee for licensing the establishment of a subsidiary of a foreign law practice organization or foreign law firm in Vietnam will be VND 20 million per dossier (against current VND 15 million).

This is one of the new fee rates provided in the Finance Ministry’s Circular No. 02/2012/TT-BTC of January 5, which replaces Decision No. 75/QD-BTC of September 16, 2004, on fees for professional practice by lawyers in Vietnam.

The fee for granting professional practice certificate to intern lawyers subject to the examination of practice probation results will be VND 1.5 million, and to those who are not required to take such examination will be VND 400,000.

The fee for modifying contents of licenses for establishment of subsidiaries of foreign law practice organizations or foreign law firms in Vietnam will rise up to VND 4 million against current VND 3 million.

An operation registration certificate will be granted for subsidiaries of foreign law practice organizations or foreign law firms at a fee of VND 400,000.

A license for professional practice of foreign lawyers in Vietnam will be granted at a fee of VND 2 million.

The fee for extending licenses for professional practice of foreign lawyers in Vietnam rises to VND 1 million.-
