As part of its 2025 work plan, the Department of Law Dissemination, Education, and Legal Aid under the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) held the Conference on enhancing legal aid knowledge and capacity for community representatives in Quang Ninh province on October 16.
The Conference brought together local officials, community leaders, and representatives of social organizations from Ha Long, Hong Gai, Ha Lam and Ha Tu wards of Quang Ninh province.
Legal experts, lecturers, and lawyers from the Department of Law Dissemination and Education and Legal Aid provided participants with essential knowledge of the 2017 Law on Legal Aid. The session covered the rights and obligations of legal aid beneficiaries, the functions of legal aid organizations, and various forms and procedures for accessing free legal assistance.

To ensure practical understanding, the presenters incorporated real-life case studies related to land disputes, family and marriage, labor, administrative, and criminal issues. These examples helped participants better grasp how legal aid services can be applied in daily life and shared within their communities.
Participants highly appreciated the training’s practicality, expressing a desire for similar activities to be expanded so that more citizens and grassroots officials could gain a clear understanding of their legal rights and the availability of free legal aid services.- (VLLF)
