With a view to ensuring the timely and accurate publicization of socio-economic information, strategic policies and solutions to curb inflation, stabilize the macro-economy and sustain the national development, and building the confidence of investors and population in state policies, the Prime Minister on September 29 issued Decision No. 1390/QD-TTg, promulgating the Regulation on coordinated supply of information by the Ministries of Information and Communication, Finance, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, and Foreign Affairs, and the State Bank of Vietnam to the press.
The ministries are asked to provide the media with timely, truthful and adequate information via documents or spokespersons or at weekly press conferences held by the Ministry of Information and Communication. The ministries themselves may organize brief meetings with domestic and foreign correspondents or issue press releases to provide regular information to the press, especially on issues of bid social impact or international concern.
They are requested to cooperate with one another to form a transparent macro-economic indicator system, and exchange information with international financial institutions so foreign investors and partner countries have an accurate picture of Vietnam’s economy.-
