The State will, based on the state budget capacity and tourism development requirements in each period, allocate funds for the protection and embellishment of tourist resources and environment; prevention and control of environmental incidents in tourist sites; and construction of infrastructures in national tourist resorts, according to the Government Decree issued on June 1.
The Prime Minister shall recognize national tourist sites or resorts, while presidents of provincial-level People’s Committees shall recognize local ones when the conditions prescribed in this Decree are met.
Tourist enterprises may participate in tourism promotion activities and line associations and employ only those who hold international tourist guide cards for guiding foreign tourists.
The Decree also specifies conditions for dealing in tourist accommodation; branches and representative offices of Vietnam-based foreign tourist enterprises; conditions for the grant of domestic and international tourist guide’s cards; and forms of tourist promotion.
This Decree replaces Decree No. 27/2001/ND-CP, Decree No. 39/2000/ND-CP and Decree No. 45/2000/ND-CP.-
