Legislators on June 17 morning scrutinized adjustments to the investment policy for the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period, as part of the 15th National Assembly's ongoing seventh session.
The Government reported that the program has recorded outstanding results in terms of disbursement, which, however, has yet to meet expectations, particularly that of non-business capital.
A report from the Ministry of Finance also shows that as of the end of March, public investment disbursement for the program had exceeded VND 2.11 trillion (nearly USD 82.9 million), equivalent to 14 percent of the plan. Meanwhile, the disbursement of non-business capital reached only VND 38.38 billion or 1 percent of the plan.
Lawmakers stressed that the adjustments are necessary to address difficulties and obstacles to the implementation work, thus accelerating the disbursement towards achieving the program's targets set in NA resolutions.
In the afternoon, after hearing proposals and verification reports on the draft revised laws on notary and value-added tax, they will discuss in groups the bills, and the NA's draft resolution on value-added tax (VAT) reduction.-(VLLF)
