President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien delivered a report summarizing opinions and petitions of voters and people, submitted to the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly, at its opening on October 20.

Chien said that the Presidium of the VFF Central Committee had received 114 reports containing 2,403 opinions and feedback from voters and people, in which they show their delight and appreciation at the results of the apparatus reform within the political system following the two-tier local administration model which is closer to the people and more proactive in serving them.

Along with efforts to exceed all 15 targets set for 2025, the Party and State have issued numerous policies to improve people’s living standards. The entire political system has actively joined efforts and achieved significant results, such as completing the national program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households; implementing tuition fee exemptions for students from preschool to the end of high school; and introducing policies for regular health check-ups and reductions or exemptions in hospital fees.

They express their agreement and trust in the ongoing, resolute fight against corruption, wastefulness, and other negative phenomena, which has also achieved many important results.

Many voters and citizens remain concerned and worried about the US reciprocal tariff policies, the impacts of global inflation as well as the unpredictable fluctuations in gold and real estate prices on the domestic economy, and a large number of long-delayed and stagnant projects which cause huge losses.

They are concerned and frustrated about the issue of fraud, which has not been thoroughly solved. These include scam phone calls, fraudulent offers to buy, sell, or receive gifts, particularly the increasing number of online scams that exploit social media and digital platforms, and often target vulnerable groups with limited awareness, such as the elderly, children, and students.

Based on the opinions and petitions of voters and people, Chien suggested the Party and State continue to give strong direction and issue detailed guidelines and measures for implementing the two-tier local administration model, ensuring that it is truly streamlined, efficient, and effective.

He proposed the Party and State pay close attention to directing the collection and incorporation of opinions from all social strata into the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress. The Party and State should also focus on ensuring the successful organization of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, so as to select truly worthy representatives who possess sufficient integrity, capability, and talent to shoulder the responsibilities of the nation and localities.

It is necessary to handle government agencies and competent individuals who fail to perform, or inadequately or improperly perform, their duties in citizen reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations, and responses to petitions and feedback.

Chien urged the Party and State to continue strengthening and enhancing the effectiveness of efforts to prevent and combat the production, trade, and transport of counterfeit and substandard goods; address the situation of individuals impersonating state agencies and exploiting cyberspace to threaten or defraud others; and resolutely detect and strictly punish those who spread false information that harms the interests of organizations, individuals, the Party, and the State.

He also highlighted the need to pay attention to reviewing, assessing, and researching comprehensive, fundamental, coordinated, and feasible solutions regarding planning, resources, and management to proactively prevent, respond to, and mitigate the impacts of storms, floods, and natural disasters, thereby protecting the lives and property of people in the context of increasingly severe and unpredictable climate change.- (VNA/VLLF)
