PM okays establishment of steering committee to restructure gov’t system
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision to set up a steering committee to review the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of 2017 on reform and re-organization of the political apparatus towards greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision to set up a steering committee to review the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of 2017 on reform and re-organization of the political apparatus towards greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Under Decision 1403/QD-TTg dated November 16, 2024, PM Chinh will serve as head of the steering committee with Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh acting as deputy head.

Deputy PMs Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc and Bui Thanh Son will work as members of the steering committee along with Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Internal Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son and Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh.

The steering committee will prepare a 20-year review of the Government’s organizational model and propose a structure for the 16th-term Government (2026–2031).

The Ministry of Home Affairs will serve as the committee’s secretariat, assigned with coordinating efforts, drafting plans, and proposing restructuring solutions for Government agencies and ministries.- (VLLF)
