Standing Committee prepares for last session of XIIIth legislature
The National Assembly Standing Committee on December 9 opened its 43rd meeting, focusing on preparations for the last session of the XIIIth legislature scheduled for March 2016.

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on December 9 opened its 43rd meeting, focusing on preparations for the last session of the XIIIth legislature scheduled for March 2016.

During the two and a half day meeting, the NA Standing Committee would discuss the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and make preparations for the 11th and final session of the NA of the XIIIth tenure, said NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

The committee would comment on the Government's proposals on financial management in taxation and customs agencies for the 2016-20 period, the Ordinance on Market Management, and negotiation and exchange of note agreements on visa issuance between Vietnam and the United States.

It would also talk about preparations for the election of deputies to the XIVth National Assembly and People's Councils in May next year.

Discussing the draft Resolution on establishment and organization of Offices of NA deputies’ delegations in localities, NA Chairman Hung said that each office should have ten staff members at most, including an office chief secretary and one or two deputy chief secretaries, and that each person could hold more than one position to ensure simplification.

At this meeting, the committee is expected to promulgate its working regulation and define the duties, powers and organizational structures of the Secretariat and Office of the NA.- (VNS/VLLF)
