Top legislator launches academic year at Vinh Long high school

Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man beat the drum to mark the start of the 2024-2025 academic year at Pham Hung High School in Long Ho district, the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long, on September 5.

In his speech at the ceremony, the top legislator stressed that the Party and State always see education a top national policy, and investment in education is that for development, ensuring that all school-aged children are able to attend schools and study in the best conditions.

Due attention has been paid to the training of human resources, especially high-quality one, which is one of the most important factors that decide the quality of life and the nation's rapid and sustainable development, while affirming its competitive capacity and position in the region and the world, he said.

The leader spoke highly of, and congratulated the school on the achievements that it has attained over years, expressing his hope that the teachers will continue to hold onto their passion and dedication for their profession, while the students will promote solidarity and equip themselves with knowledge and skills for their future careers.

He asked the Party organizations, administrations, and Fatherland Fronts at all levels, organizations, and sectors of Vinh Long province to ensure infrastructure and financial resources for education, renew teaching and learning methods, improve the quality of comprehensive education, and enhance coordination between schools and families in the work.

The school was established in 1977, and named after Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung, an excellent citizen of Long Ho district. It has 40 classrooms with 1,571 students and 101 teachers and staff.- (VNA/VLLF)
