During the sessions, the speakers presented the main provisions of the Law on Legal Aid, focusing on areas such as the categories of eligible beneficiaries, procedures for requesting legal aid, and the available channels for submitting applications. They also introduced the principal forms of free legal aid, including legal consultation, participation in court proceedings to provide defense or protect legitimate rights and interests, representation outside of court, and assistance with legal procedures. The rights and obligations of legal aid beneficiaries were also highlighted.

Alongside the legal framework, the conferences focused on practical skills to help grassroots officials identify, refer, and promptly support individuals in need of legal aid. Real-life case studies and common legal scenarios were integrated into the training, enabling participants to better understand and apply the law. Attendees also received detailed information about the Lam Dong State Legal Aid Center and its hotline for receiving legal aid requests.

The events not only improved knowledge and understanding of legal aid among residents, particularly the poor and disadvantaged, but also enhanced their capacity to access and use legal aid services. At the same time, the training helped equip grassroots officials with timely legal knowledge, fostering a culture of respect for and compliance with the law in local communities. By strengthening these foundations, the initiative reaffirmed the principle of ensuring that no one is left behind in access to justice, especially society’s most vulnerable groups.

The training sessions highlighted the commitment and efforts of the Department of Law Dissemination and Education and Legal Aid in equipping grassroots officials with timely legal knowledge, promoting a culture of respect for and adherence to the law, and ensuring that citizens are better empowered to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.

Many participants expressed their satisfaction with the conferences, praising the practical content and interactive training methods. They also expressed hope that further in-depth workshops on legal aid will be held in the future, providing more opportunities to deepen their understanding of the law.- (VLLF)
