An overview of Vietnam’s current labor policies

Over the past years, many labor-related policies and laws have been issued and brought into reality in order to ensure lawful rights and interests of employees and employers, build harmonious and stable relations within the enterprises, and push up the labor market development.

1. The Party’s guidelines on labor have been institutionalized into policies and laws.

The 1994 Labor Code, which is a significant landmark in the development of the legal system on labor, has institutionalized the Party’s renewal line and concretized the 1992 Constitution’s provisions regarding labor, employment, labor administration as well as issues before, during and after the employment process such as employment, vocational training, labor contracts, wages, occupational safety and hygiene, and social insurance...
