Defense diplomacy constitutes a part and parcel of the state diplomacy, which materializes the external-relation line of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the State in the field of defense, aiming to build confidence and establish and develop defense relations with all countries on the basis of equality and mutual respect so as to contribute to the national construction and defense and the maintenance of peace, stability and security in the region and the world.
Prominent achievements of the defense diplomacy in recent past
In recent years, the defense diplomacy has seen a new step of development together with the external-relation activities of the Party, the State and people, helping maintain the political stability for national construction and raise the prestige and position of the country as well as the Vietnam People’s Army in the international arena. It has been constantly expanded in various areas and developed extensively as well as intensively, actively contributing to the successful implementation of Vietnam’s open-door policy of multilateralization and diversification of relations in the spirit that “Vietnam befriends all countries and all nations in the world,” step by step integrating Vietnam into the world and consolidating peace and stability for national construction and defense.
