Party Central Committee sets criteria for personnel of its next tenure

The Party Central Committee closed its 11th plenum on May 7 after a four-day sitting, adopting criteria for personnel of the Committee of the next tenure, among other important issues.

In his closing speech, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the new Party Central Committee to be elected at the XIIth National Party Congress to be convened early next year should be a strong and united collective with steadfast political spirit and good moral qualities.

The Party leader said that understanding the significance of the preparation of personnel for the XIIth National Party Congress and regarding personnel and personnel work as “the root of all matters,” the Party Central Committee meticulously discussed and highly agreed with the Political Bureau’s report presented at the plenum.

In particular, members of the new Party Central Committee must be persistent in the national independence and socialism goal, and have the combating will and discipline.

The Committee members must have profound patriotism and political firmness; and be faithful to Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, the Platform and guidelines of the Party, the Constitution, and national interests.
