The organization of the upcoming 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, to be celebrated with various cultural and artistic performances, must be distinctive, inspiring, and filled with national pride, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has said.
PM Chinh, who is also Chairman of the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation, made the request while chairing the council's 14th meeting in Hanoi on October 20.
He recalled that since President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation, such movements have united the nation to overcome difficulties and contribute to national development, especially during major anniversaries and political milestones.
Over the past five years, numerous impactful and far-reaching emulation movements have been launched, including the special campaign to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the program to eliminate substandard housing ahead of schedule by more than five years, and the record completion of key infrastructure projects such as the 500kV transmission lines from Quang Trach to Pho Noi and from Lao Cai to Vinh Yen.
Currently, emulation movements are thriving nationwide, producing many exemplary models and innovative practices that inspire unity and progress. These efforts aim to ensure that the upcoming 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress in December will reflect the country’s socio-economic achievements over the past five years and celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.
He requested that the 11th congress be scheduled for the first half of December, in coordination with the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly.
The PM instructed that outstanding individuals and collectives be honored in a dignified and creative manner, with the Ministry of Home Affairs guiding the review of cases for top distinctions such as Labor Hero, People’s Armed Forces Hero.
He emphasized that many individuals who made extraordinary contributions during the COVID-19 response have yet to be recognized, and that notable achievements in strategic infrastructure development, social welfare, and cultural and scientific advancement must also be highlighted.
He directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to issue detailed guidance for localities and agencies to prepare thoroughly for the congress, including a well-organized program and scenario.
The leader underlined the importance of meticulous preparation for protocol, logistics, and safety, emphasizing that the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress should be held in a solemn, vibrant, and safe manner, with long-lasting impact. He tasked Hanoi authorities with ensuring all facilities and logistics are ready for the event.
He further urged the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation and its members to promote innovation and creativity, contributing to the success of a truly remarkable and influential congress.- (VNA/VLLF)
