Charges and fees to be further reduced
From July 1, 30 types of charges and fees (29 types of charges and fees provided in Circular 112 of 2020 and a charge newly added at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) would be further reduced by 10-50 percent.

Such proposal of the Ministry of Finance aims to support and remove difficulties for people and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and thereby, gradually restore the economy.

Accordingly, fees for grant of citizen’s identity cards, intellectual property-related fees, charges for appraisal for grant of international travel business licenses, domestic travel business licenses and tour guide’s cards would be reduced by 50 percent.

Healthcare-related fees would be cut by 30 percent.

Fees for issuance of passports, laissez-passers, AB stamps and exit permits would decrease by 20 percent.

Customs charges and airport entry/exit fees international flights arriving to Vietnam would go down by 10 percent.

Particularly, road tolls for vehicles of transportation business would be reduced by 10-30 percent.

The proposed charge and fee would apply by the end of this year. From January 1, 2022, the rates applicable before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic will apply.

According to the MOF, once this draft is approved, the state budget revenue would decrease by about VND 1,000 billion (USD 43 million).- (VLLF)
