From March 27, domestic as well as foreign organizations and individuals will have to pay a prescribed fee for copyright registration certificates or related right registration certificates issued by state copyright protection offices.
Under Finance Minister Circular No. 29/2009/TT-BTC of February 10, the maximum fee level of VND 600,000 must be paid for a copyrighted computer program, data compilation or another computer-aided program. The minimum fee of VND 100,000 is payable for copyright registration of a literary or scientific work, textbook, teaching course or another work expressed in written languages or other characters, lecture, speech, press or photographic work or musical composition.
For renewal of a copyright or related right registration certificate, the above fee levels will be halved. Collected fees will not be refunded in case these certificates are revoked or invalidated.-
