Contest launched to help citizens learn legislation on rights and obligations of overseas Vietnamese

A quiz for Vietnamese citizens at home and aboard to study current law on rights and obligations of overseas Vietnamese will go online from October 25 through November 25.

The contest, to be held by the Ministry of Justice, focuses on the regulations on rights and obligations of overseas Vietnamese and people of Vietnamese descent; laws on residence, civil status, citizenship, and authentication; election; exit and entry; and land and housing. It also asks about the regulations on the Vietnamese State’s protection policies toward Vietnamese citizens living and working abroad as well as policies to attract foreign investment into Vietnam in all fields.

Contestants should access to answer 20 questions. Each contestant is allowed to do the test three times to improve the results with each time not exceeding 20 minutes.

Excellent contestants will receive certificates and gifts from the contest-organizing board, with one first prize worth VND 6 million (around USD 245), two second prizes each worth VND 3 million (USD 122,5), three third prizes each worth VND 2 million (USD 81,7), and five consolation prizes each worth VND 1 million (USD 40,8).- (VLLF)
