All buried or sunken objects which are now uncovered or found in the mainland, islands and sea areas of Vietnam must be kept intact at finding sites. Uncovering or finding persons should promptly report their findings to competent authorities and may not themselves unearth or salvage found things.
According to Government Decree No. 96/2009/ND-CP of October 30, these persons may be rewarded 0.5-30% of the value of uncovered, unearthed, salvaged, remitted or accurately informed assets, which is between VND 10 million to over VND 10 billion. However, a reward for finders of invaluable assets must not exceed VND 200 million.
