Eleven laws come into force this month

July 1 marks the effective date of eleven laws, which were passed on November 29, 2006, by the National Assembly.

These include the Law on Notarization; the Law on Tax Administration; the Law on Gender Equality; the Law on Vietnamese Guest Workers; the Law Revising a Number of Articles of the Labor Code; the Law on Residence; the Law on Donation, Removal and Transplantation of Human Tissues and Organs and Donation and Recovery of Cadavers; the Law on Physical Training and Sports; the Law on Dikes; the Law on Technology Transfer; and the Law Revising a Number of Articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly.

Two ordinances, namely the Ordinance on Conclusion and Implementation of International Agreements, and the Ordinance on Exercise of Democracy in Communes, Wards and Townships, also take effect on July 1.

According to the Law on Residence, citizens who have lawful places of residence and have resided in a centrally run city for at least one year may make permanent residence registration.

Under the Law on Notarization, notaries may set up notary offices in the form of private enterprises or partnerships.

The Law on Donation, Removal and Transplantation of Human Tissues and Organs and Donation and Recovery of Cadavers stipulates that persons who are full 18 years of age or older may donate their tissues, organs or cadavers.-
