The finale of the 4th National Excellent Mediator Contest will be held in Hanoi on November 8, 2023, as part of a series of events to commenmorate the Vietnamese Law Day (November 9 every year).
The contest, which aims to raise public awareness about the significance and role of mediation work, consists of two rounds – a regional round and a national round. The regional round has been held in Hai Phong city for competitors from the Northern region on September 14-15, Khanh Hoa province with contestants from the Vietnam Center and Central Highlands region on September 21-22, and Tay Ninh province for competitors from the Southern region on October 13-14. Fourteen excellent teams that won the regional round will enter the national round in the capital city of Hanoi on November 8, including the teams of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Tay Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc.
The Contest covers several contents such as mediation skills and knowledge about the law on conciliation at the grassroots level, basic rights and obligations of citizens under the 2013 Constitution, regulations on a number of areas related to grassroots conciliation work such as civil matters, marriage and family, land, housing, gender equality, prevention and control of domestic violence, environmental protection, and prevention of corruption and negative practices, among others.
At the Award Ceremony, the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Education Commission will, in coordination with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Justice, launch an online contest themed “Learning about policies and law on prevention and control of corrupt and negative acts.” This event is considered a practical activity in response to the Vietnamese Law Day and expected to raise awareness and improve knowledge of Party members, cadres, civil servants, public employees and people about policies and laws on prevention and control of corruption and negative phenomena.- (VLLF)
