The Hanoi International Arbitration Council has recently launched its online dispute resolution (ODR) system on its website www.hiac.vn.
The online system, combined with the advantages of non-procedural dispute resolution methods, allows organizations and individuals to access to the dispute resolution system from any place and at any time, ensuring the rapid and convenient process of dispute resolution with lowest costs.

According to a Kanta Worldpanel report, Vietnam is one of the world's leading countries in terms of e-commerce growth with some 40 million online shoppers in 2018 and consumption e-commerce growth level of 30 percent per year.
With the fact that these transactions are often of little value, consumers tend to be reluctant that the resolution of any arising dispute will take a lot of their time and efforts. The development of this ODR method, therefore, becomes a tool to support the healthy development of Vietnam's e-commerce market. Increasing demand for online tools by businesses and people due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has also clarified the role and importance of this dispute resolution method.
Disputes to be resolved on this system include disputes arising from online transactions and direct transactions from June 1, 2020, at www.hiac.vn.- (VLLF)
