Vietnam became the 150th member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on January 11, 2007[1], after a twelve-year application process involving seemingly endless and often contentious negotiations with member countries. [1] Vietnam’s accession package was approved on November 7, 2006, by Protocol Ratification of WTO. Official membership occurred on January 11, 2007.
