Since Vietnam was officially admitted as a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in January 2007, commitments in the Agreement on WTO Accession regarding the elimination of trade barriers for opening commodity and service markets, tariff reduction and foreign traders’ enjoyment of the distribution right (under a schedule) on an equal footing as domestic traders have been realized.
