Construction workers who die of labor accidents or permanently suffer their working capacity loss of 81 percent or more would receive a compensation of VND 100 million per accident.
Under a draft circular prepared by the Ministry of Finance to guide Decree No. 119/2015/ND-CP dated November 13, 2015, on compulsory insurance in construction investment activities, those who have their permanent working capacity reduced by under 81 percent would be entitled to a compensation amount payable according to the table of compensation enclosed with this draft.

Allowances for workers who have to leave work for medical treatment according to doctors’ indications would be 0.2 percent of their insurance sums per day and paid for up to six months.
Insurers would not be responsible for other diseases or injuries suffered by workers before or after their labor accidents or occupational diseases which result in the reduction of their working capacity.
Insurers would pay compensation amounts to workers through their contractors.
Insurance period of a worker would be counted from the date he/she commences his/her work to the date the construction work’s warranty expires.
Those who are additionally employed during the construction process would be automatically insured from the effective date of their labor contracts.- (VLLF)
