Enzo Sim Hong Jun, an expert from Malaysia’s Penang Institute, has praised the reforms and policies that Vietnam has implemented over the past year.

In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)’s correspondent in Kula Lumpur, Enzo highlighted that Vietnam has maintained and expanded its anti-corruption campaign, promoted multilateral diplomacy, signed significant trade agreements such as tariff reductions with the US.

It has strengthened cooperation with regional partners to attract investment and reduce economic dependence. The recent reform policy has been rolled out with a focus on institutional reform, creating a favorable environment for foreign investment, he stated.

The Malaysian expert noted that many laws have been amended, including the Law on Nationality, which facilitates citizenship applications for spouses of Vietnamese nationals, and a five-year visa exemption policy for talented individuals, artists, and international athletes.

The National Assembly of Vietnam also passed measures to streamline the organizational apparatus, reorganise administrative units, and enhance efficiency and transparency, said Enzo.

He concluded that these steps help Vietnam consolidate its international standing, attract high-quality resources, and move closer to its goal of becoming a regional high-tech manufacturing hub.- (VNA/VLLF)
