National Assembly sets growth targets for 2015

During the 8th session of the XIIIth National Assembly (NA), which opened on October 20 and is scheduled to last until November 28, deputies adopted a resolution on the socio-economic development plan for 2015.

Resolved socio-economic targets include a gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 6.2 percent; total export turnover growth rate of 10 percent, trade surplus of around 5 percent, consumer price index rise of 5 percent, and social development investment capital accounting for 30-32 percent of GDP.

It is also expected to reduce the rate of poor households by 1.7-2 percent; create 1.6 million jobs; slash unemployment in urban areas to below 4 percent; and cut the rate of malnourished under-five children to below 15 percent and raise the number of patient beds per 10,000 inhabitants (except beds at communal health stations) to 23.5.
