By 2045, the national network of cultural and sports establishments will be developed into works reflecting Vietnam’s cultural identity and international integration efforts in the 21st century, which are expected to become historical hallmarks and future heritages.
The above target is provided in Prime Minister Decision 991/QD-TTg, approving the Master Plan on the network of cultural and sports establishments for the 2021-30 period, with a vision toward 2045.
Accordingly, key cultural and sports centers will be established in association with major cities in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Vinh (Nghe An province), Da Nang, Hue (Thua Thien Hue province), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh province), Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak province), Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho. Additionally, two new national museums will be built, namely the Vietnam Military History Museum and Vietnam Nature Museum, together with several specialized museums, such as the Vietnam Currency Museum, Vietnam Architecture Museum, Vietnam Education Museum, and Mekong Delta Agriculture Museum.
The Master Plan targets to develop the national networks of cultural establishments, including museums, libraries, cinematography establishments, performing arts centers, cultural and art exhibition venues, domestic cultural centers, overseas Vietnamese cultural centers, research and training facilities specialized in culture and arts, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, and cultural data digitization centers.
The Master Plan also sets out orientations for development of the networks of national sports facilities, including athlete training and coaching centers, sports activity centers, sports research and education institutions, and facilities for sports services and functional rehabilitation for athletes.
It proposes eights solutions for realizing the above targets, including those concerning mechanisms and policies; capital mobilization and distribution; human resource development; development cooperation; education and communication; international cooperation; environment, science and technology; and management and operation models.- (VLLF)
