The 2005 Vietnam Maritime Code (the 2005 Code) is based on the 1990 Vietnam Maritime Code (the 1990 Code) on the principles of perpetuating relevant provisions while amending those which have become impractical and in non-compliance with national and international law concerning maritime shipping activities.
