The Ministry of Information and Communication is drafting regulations to control games online for submission to the Government in the third quarter of this year.
It is now collecting ideas from management authorities, enterprises and involved organizations on how to limit negative impacts of games online on social development, while also creating favorable conditions for the growth of the internet and gaming industry.
Right now, only Joint Circular No. 60/2006/TTLT/BVHTT-BBCVT-BCA of June 1, 2006, has guided the development of games online. However, it has not been able to solve emerging issues like limits on playing time and a player’s online assets.
