The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) on May 4 held a ceremony to officially inaugurate the first phase adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at its parent company - PVN.
Being aware of the strategic significance and importance of digital transformation to its sustainable development, which is regarded as a tool for improving productivity, operational efficiency and competitiveness, Petrovietnam has considered digital transformation a mandatory task in which the digital initiative on the deployment of the ERP system, phase 1, plays a core role.
Despite its complexity, the group, in collaboration with NGS Telecommunication & Equipment JSC, successfully launched six ERP modules covering various business functions, including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Treasury/Cash Flow, Budget Planning and Forecasting, Investment Portfolio Management, Financial Reporting Consolidation, and Management Reporting. The first module, Financial Accounting, was put into operation on March 31, 2022, and the entire system become ready for official operation two years later on the March 31, 2024.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in Petrovietnam's digital journey, as affirmed by Pham The Truong, CEO of NGS, who pledges ongoing support.
Speaking at the ceremony, Petrovietnam General Director Le Ngoc Son acknowledged and highly appreciated the relentless efforts of all parties involved in overcoming the challenges to officially put the system into operation. He emphasized that the successful deployment of the ERP system contributes to enhancing the corporation’s management and operational capabilities and optimizing financial management.
In the coming time, with a view to ensuring safe and sustainable operation of the system as well as the accuracy, completeness and integrity of data, Petrovietnam will focus on reviewing, updating, and completing the system’s operational process and organize a comprehensive review and evaluation of the system to promptly detect and prevent risks, technical weaknesses and security vulnerabilities, and immediately implement measures to address and rectify existing issues, thus ensuring absolute safety for the system.- (VLLF)
