By 2030, Vietnam will be among three leading ASEAN countries in labor productivity growth rate.
Such is one of the salient point of Prime Minister Decision 1305/QD-TTg dated November 8, approving the national program on labor productivity improvement by 2030.
To realize such goal, the program sets a target of raising the average labor productivity growth by 6.5 percent, with that of the processing and manufacturing industry being 6.5-7 percent, agro-forestry-fishery 7-7.5 percent, and service sector 7-7.5 percent.
Meanwhile, the labor productivity growth rate of key economic regions and five centrally-run cities is higher than the national average in the 2022-2030 period.
The program also highlights initiatives to boost labor productivity, including the establishment of a national productivity committee and the organization of policy dialogue on the issue, regular discussion with the business community, investors and labors to handle barriers to labor productivity improvement.
Additionally, the country will integrate measures to enhance labor productivity into programs, mechanisms and policies to build digital Government, digital economy and digital society, while promoting digital transformation in every sector, field and business.
In the meantime, it will work to enhance economic restructuring to better competitive edge of sectors.- (VLLF)
