On March 14, the Political Bureau (PB) met to review five years’ implementation of the Resolution of the 7th plenum of the Party Central Committee (Xth Congress) on agriculture, farmers and countryside (three domains).
Apart from appreciating remarkable progresses and achievements recorded in the period, the PB pointed out to realities, including low growth rate of agriculture and low incomes of farmers, poor competitiveness of farm produce, relatively high rate of poor households and unskilled farmers, which need to be addressed.
It urged all authorities and local administrations to step up public communication to improve awareness about importance of the three domains, quality of master plans aiming to associate industrialization and modernization with agricultural restructuring increase added value of farm produce, and promote industrial and service activities and technology transfer in rural activities.
