A Vietnamese delegation headed by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and head of the organizing committee of the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, is attending the 2024 Defense Service Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) and the National Security Asia 2024 (NATSEC) exhibition in Malaysia.
On the sidelines of the events, running from May 6-9, the delegation has engaged in meetings with several partners to discuss mutual concerns and cooperation.
At a meeting with the head of the Republic of Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), the two sides expressed satisfaction with the development of the nations’ comprehensive strategic partnership. Especially, bilateral cooperation in the defense industry and military trade sectors has been focused, reaping tangible results.
Talking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents on the sidelines, Tan affirmed Vietnam's high regard for defense cooperation with Malaysia, based on the foundation of diplomatic relations between the two countries for over five decades, since 1973.
He noted that through this working visit, the Vietnamese delegation aims to meet with partners and professional defense industry companies to prepare for the 2nd Vietnam International Defense Expo in December.-(VNA/VLLF)
