Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said the establishment of the association is in line with the Party, State and Government’s policy, serving the national construction and development. He believed the association would make significant contributions to efforts to protect national sovereignty and legitimate rights of Vietnamese legal entities and citizens at international and foreign courts or arbitrators.
Binh suggested the association create a forum for scholars, administrators and practitioners of international law, organize activities to popularize, train in and study international law in service of the country’s international integration, and externally introduce the viewpoints of Vietnamese scholars and researchers of international law to raise their voice at international forums.
The association will focus on studying and popularizing international law, supporting the Government’s standpoints at international forums, and cooperating with other organizations and enterprises in legal issues, dispute settlement and global integration, Binh said.
The establishment of the association also meets the demand of Vietnamese researchers and practitioners of international law.
