All brand-new automobiles with a seating capacity of 16 or less will be allowed to be imported into Vietnam through only five international seaports under tightened customs clearance procedures.
Joint Circular No. 25/2010/TTLT-BCT-BGTVT-BTC of June 14 of the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Transport Ministry and the Finance Ministry stipulates that only Cai Lan in Quang Ninh and the ports of Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau will be eligible to conduct customs procedures for these vehicles.
