According to this Law, recently passed by the National Assembly, legal aid means the free-of-charge provision of legal services to legal service users to ensure their legitimate rights and interests.
Under the 8-chapter and 52-article Law, legal aid beneficiaries include poor people, people with meritorious services to the revolution, lonely elderly, people with disabilities and helpless children, and ethnic minority people living in areas meeting with exceptional socio-economic difficulties.
