The Prime Minister on May 2 proposed the President to consider and decide on the country’s accession to Convention 144 of the International Labor Organization.

The accession to Tripartite Consultation Convention 144 would create a more complete legal ground for employees and employers to discuss and better implement international labor standards and affirm their rights to contribute opinions for ensuring the Government’s performance of international obligations.

The accession would reflect Vietnam’s efforts in building a democratic institution based on dialogue and consultation between public agencies and their social partners. It would create more favorable conditions for the country to fulfill WTO commitments and bilateral trade agreements.-
