Nightclubs may not admit under-18 people and must close before 2 a.m.
These rules are provided in Decree 54/2019/ND-CP dated June 19, on the provision of karaoke and nightclub services that will take effect on September 1.
Under the new regulation, those dealing in the business must meet the prescribed requirements regarding security and fire safety prescribed in Government Decree 96 dated July 1, 2016, on conditional businesses.
A karaoke parlor must have an area of at least 20 m2, excluding toiletry. Inner latches and alarm bells, except fire alarms, may not be installed in karaoke parlors.
A nightclub must have an area of at least 80 m2, excluding toiletry, and must be at least 200 meters from schools, hospitals and religious or historical sites.
Karaoke parlors and nightclubs may only use legally licensed songs. Workers of karaoke parlors are required to wear suitable clothing and name tags bearing their photos.
Both karaoke parlors and nightclubs are required to comply with the regulations on environmental protection, food safety, copyright, occupational health and social crime prevention and control.
Karaoke parlors can open from 8 a.m. until midnight.- (VLLF)
