Raft of bills to be passed at the NA’s session
Eleven bills and a resolution on the 2016 law- and ordinance-making program are scheduled to be approved at the 9th session of the XIIIth National Assembly (NA) that convened on May 20 in Hanoi.

“The 31-day session will focus on making lawsrelating to the country’s development process,” said the NA’s Office ChairmanNguyen Hanh Phuc on May 19 at a press conference.

They are the amended law on the organization ofthe Government; the law on the organization of local administrations, theamended law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the amended law on the election ofdeputies to the NA and People’s Councils.

NA deputies will discuss laws on the statebudget, state audit, promulgation of legal documents, military service, marine and island resources andenvironment, veterinary medicine, and occupational safetyand hygiene.

Lawmakers will also debate four other importantresolutions, especially a resolution on the 2015 NA program and a resolution oninvestment in Long Thanh InternationalAirport in Dong Nai province.

A report on the implementation of the 2014socio-economic development plan and the implementation of socio-economicdevelopment plans in the first quarter of 2015 will also be reviewed at thesession.

The NA will also examine 15 other bills,including the amended Civil Code, the amended Penal Code; the amended CivilProcedure Code, the amended Criminal Procedure Code; the AdministrativeProcedure Code, the law on criminal investigation agencies, the law on custodyand temporary detention, the law on oversight of the NA and People’s Councils, theamended accounting law, law on statistics, law on information safety, law oncharges and fees, law amending and supplementing a number of articles of theMaritime Code, law on referendum, and law on hydro-meteorology.-
