A seminar was recently held by the Thai Nguyen Department of Justice at the Thai Nguyen Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Association to discuss measures to enhance the effectiveness of legal support for SMEs in the province.

The event aims to strengthen dialogue between state management agencies and the business community, provide timely guidance on legal issues of enterprises’ concern, and raise businesses’ sense of legal compliance for preventing legal risks.

Speaking at the seminar, Nguyen Huu Son, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Justice, emphasized that legal support for SMEs is an important task that helps create a transparent, secure legal framework for the sustainable development of the business community. He called on specialized agencies under the department to continue reviewing and updating new regulations, strengthen coordination with relevant departments and sectors and the association, and diversify support methods, especially provision of direct legal counseling and online support, and improve the quality of legal consultants. He also encouraged enterprises to be more proactive in accessing information and promptly provide feedback on emerging issues to state management agencies for making appropriate adjustments.

At the seminar, the Department of Justice provided information on central agencies’ resolutions and decisions related to private economy development; the provincial authorities’ decisions on procedures and processes for providing support in terms of legal counseling costs for SMEs; administrative procedures in the field of legal support for SMEs under the department’s management; as well as the list of organizations and individuals participating in the province’s network of legal consultants.

The seminar heard participants discussing issues related to removing obstacles and simplifying procedures in business activities activities. The participants also proposed solutions concerning SMEs’ access to concessional loans, sectors and trades eligible for tax incentives, legal counseling services, support for SMEs and cooperatives in applying science and technology to production and business activities, and guarantee for the enforcement of intellectual property rights and the protection of trademarks and brands of enterprises and cooperatives.

Based on the recommendations raised at the seminar, the Thai Nguyen Department of Justice will, in coordination with relevant departments and sectors, propose more practical solutions to support the sustainable development of SMEs and actively contribute to socio-economic growth of the province.- (VLLF)
