Two training workshops were held on September 19 to enhance the capacity and knowledge of legal aid for village elders, community leaders, respected individuals in the community, as well as grassroots officials of Lang Biang, Lam Vien, Xuan Truong wards, and Dinh Van and Nam Ha communes, Lam Dong province.
These activities form part of the 2025 work plan of the Department of Law Dissemination and Education and Legal Aid under the Ministry of Justice. They are considered highly meaningful activities for those who act as “bridges” to bring free legal aid services closer to people, ensuring the lawful rights and interests of citizens, especially the poor, people with meritorious services to the revolution, children, and other vulnerable groups.
The workshops were led by Ha Thi Diep, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong State Legal Aid Center, and lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Lan from Ngoc Lan & Associates Law Firm, who is also a lecturer at Dai Nam University.

Participants engaged actively in discussions, sharing challenges and difficulties from their local contexts. Many noted that limited legal awareness remains a barrier restricting people from accessing legal aid services, while others suggested organizing more in-depth training sessions to deepen grassroots leaders’ understanding of legal aid regulations. This, they emphasized, would enable them to more effectively disseminate knowledge and support citizens in their communities. Participants also requested the Department of Law Dissemination and Education and Legal Aid and the speakers to provide further guidance on specialized legal issues such as laws on land and inheritance, and policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution and military veterans.
By the end of the workshops, participants had not only strengthened their legal knowledge but also improved their skills in guiding and explaining legal matters to citizens. These efforts also mark an important step toward Lam Dong province’s goal of “bringing law closer to people and serving them better.”- (VLLF)
