Accordingly, Vietnam will build a synchronous and modern infrastructure system to attract tourists and lure investment from foreign and domestic investors in national tourism zones, especially those in key tourism development areas or deep-lying and remote areas with great tourism development potential so as to form tourist zones of high competitiveness in the regional and international tourism markets.

By 2020, 3-5 national tourist zones will basically have synchronous infrastructure systems while 30 other national tourist zones and attractions will receive support in terms of transport investment and access to a number of fundamental infrastructure and tourism infrastructure.

The program, worth more than VND 30 trillion, will be implemented in localities regarded as key tourism development areas and localities with tourist zones, attractions and routes already determined in the master plan on development of Vietnam’s tourism through 2020, with priority given to poor provinces.

Work items to be built under the program include roads linking highways or provincial roads to tourist zones and attractions and internal roads and waste treatment systems of these tourist zones and attractions. The program will also provide funds for projects to embellish tourism resources in tourist zones and attractions as well as regional key tourism development areas.- (VLLF)
