Under the 2006 legislative program, the Bill on Legal Aid will be passed by the National Assembly at its 9th session in May. This Bill is important for the national legal system and also politically: it is expected to raise Vietnam’s position in the international arena in terms of protection of human rights and the rights of the poor.
