The Prime Minister has recently urged responsible authorities to create a convenient business environment, and promote innovation and business startup in order to found tourism enterprises with strong brands.
Under Directive 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, he requests provincial-level People’s Committees to effectively implement administration and public-private partnership models in tourism development in the spirit of “harmonious benefits and shared risks”. They are asked to promptly promulgate preferential mechanisms and policies to mobilize resources from enterprises, particularly large-sized ones, to invest in tourism development.
Another task is to preserve and promote unique indigenous cultural values and natural landscapes for sustainable tourism development, ensure security and safety for tourists, focusing on environmental sanitation and food safety. Besides, the participation of people and enterprises in building a cultured, civilized, friendly and hospitable tourism environment must be promoted.
At the same time, regional and inter-regional links will be developed to create tourism growth drivers under the motto “one route - many destinations”, thereby providing special tourism products and establishing production chains in localities with tourism potential, and intensify cooperation in investment, product development, communications, sales promotion and launching of tourism stimulation campaigns.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the implementation of the national green tourism action program nationwide, focusing on such activities as holding national green tourism annual forums, developing green tourism products associated with the formation of a socially responsible tourism business community, and promoting the issuance of sustainable tourism certificates according to the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) for tourism establishments and hotels.
At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security is assigned to intensify administrative reform and science and technology application and implement automation solutions to conveniently complete procedures for foreigners to enter, reside and travel safely in Vietnam. It will also have to study, propose and apply online exit and entry formalities through facial recognition (faceID) and e-passport in favor of tourists.- (VLLF)
