Judicial cooperation between Vietnam and Australia saw great strides with the publication of the online version of the Vietnamese Judiciary’s Judge’s Scrapbook on September 8 during a meeting between the two countries’ top tribunal presidents.

The new version, which originates from its June 2006 inaugural version as the result of over two years’ cooperation between the two countries’ judiciaries, is considered a big boost for the Vietnamese judiciary, as it will help improve the institutional capacity of the court system and the professionalism of judges in judicial management, and will strengthen the country’s judiciary independence.

Also at the three-day meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on judicial cooperation to create a legal foundation for building up and developing cooperation between the two judiciaries.-
